Allan Holdsworth, the rock and jazz guitar virtuoso who was best known for his work with Soft Machine and numerous other jazz-rock and progressive bands, died on Saturday (15 April). He was 70, and passed away at his home in Vista, California; no cause of death was immediately given. yesterday was one of the hardest days of my life. may dad now RIP. it was a lovely service that wouldn't have happened without u all. we cannot thank u enough. i promised an update after all was said & done...dad passed away from cardiovascular hypertension. he was cremated & his ashes will be split between the 4 children.next we will b working on a place for fans & friends to pay their respects, & also the public memorial. we have an idea for the venue but that is all the info we have at this time. please give us some time to process our extreme loss & we will update when we have more info.thank u xoxox(picture of the "white roses of yorkshire" at the reception that was held where dad played his last gig.)
