In the sequel to his Hot Licks DVD "No Nonsense Jazz Guitar," Jimmy Bruno leads you into more advanced improvisational concepts, including how to derive melodies and how to integrate non-scale ("outside") notes into your playing to create tension and release.
Backed with piano, bass and drums, Bruno uses the first half of the DVD concentrating on scale and chord patterns over a static harmony (Dm7, for example.) The latter half of the DVD moves on to soloing over the fluid chord changes typical of classic jazz (including changes in the style of Charlie Parker.) Especially helpful throughout is Bruno's comments to the viewer as he solos, making clear the thought behind every series of notes.
This new DVD transfer includes slow-motion segments with standard pitch sound; immediate menu access to each exercise; booklet with every exercise in standard notation and TAB; a new introduction by producer Arlen Roth; and much more!
